Auditorium

The Auditorium is the Guildhall’s largest hireable space at an impressive 1550 sq. ft. The Auditorium has lent itself to many different events including theatrical productions, band nights, ceremonies, conferences and many more.

  • Description: This room boasts a kitchen with café area, stage, seated balcony, dressing room, lighting/sound desk and screen with projector*.
  • Capacity: Depending on the requirements of your booking the capacity of the Auditorium is up to 300.
Hiring the Auditorium including Cafe Area
  • £22.00 per hour Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm
  • £27.50 per hour before 8am or after 7pm or Saturday & Sunday
  • Subject to a minimum 2 hour hire charge.

*Please note that use of the kitchen and screen incur an additional

Hiring the Auditorium including the stage
  • £37.50 per hour at all times
  • Subject to a minimum 2 hour hire charge.
Hiring the Kitchen
  • £8 per hour up to a maximum of £32 per booking
  • Subject to a minimum 2 hour hire charge

Please note: the Kitchen and Café areas are only hireable independently when there is no booking in the auditorium. A booking may be cancelled up to 4 weeks prior to an event if an alternative hirer requests use of the auditorium.

Town Hall

The Town Hall on the second floor is an ideal meeting room and conference centre and has an external balcony overlooking the main street. This room is called the Town Hall due to it’s additional use as the Council Chambers, where Chard Town Council meet.

    This room is called the Town Hall due to it’s additional use as the Council Chambers, where Chard Town Council meetings take place throughout the month.

    When hiring the Town Hall, the attached pantry is available for serving light refreshments and is fully fitted with fridge, microwave, toaster and sink.
  • Capacity: Depending on the requirements of your booking the capacity of the Town Hall is up to 60 people.

  • £11.00 per hour Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm subject to a minimum 1.5 hour hire charge
  • £13.20 per hour before 8am or after 7pm or Saturday & Sunday and is subject to a minimum 2 hour hire charge.

Mayor’s Parlour

The Mayor’s Parlour, located on the second floor, is perfect for small meetings . The Mayor’s Parlour is best suited for boardroom style meetings as it houses a large meeting table and space for a whiteboard.

Bondfield Room

The Bondfield Room is our newest and most intimate room available for hire. With a capacity of just 6 this makes it the ideal meeting place for one-on-one meetings, interviews or drop in sessions.

  • The Bondfield Room is £8.80 per hour and is subject to a minimum 1.5 hour hire charge 8am-7pm Monday to Friday and a minimum 2 hour hire charge outside of those hours.

Café Area

The café area is a light and airy space to serve refreshments, with tables and chairs provided and easy access to the kitchen and auditorium.

  • Capacity: The maximum capacity of the Café Area is up to 40 people depending on the required set up.
