All parts of the Guildhall are fully accessible for wheelchair users. There is a ramp in the foyer, taking you in to the auditorium and lift access to all other floors. A wheelchair accessible toilet can be found on the ground floor in the foyer.

We have a Hearing Loop system installed in the Auditorium. If you require this facility, please notify us at point of booking or when discussing your room setup to ensure it is made available.

Chard Guildhall welcomes assistance animals in any of our hireable rooms. 

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor in the foyer area, where baby changing is also available. Male and female toilets can be found on the first floor.

Chard is easily accessible, situated on the main London–Exeter route (A303) it is easy to make a stop off. The Guildhall is located on Fore Street in the centre of the town, where there are various public car parks nearby, the nearest being the Lace Mill car park on Boden Street.

The nearest train station serving Chard is located in Axminster, located 7 miles south of Chard. There are bus connections to Chard from the station.

Chard is served by two different bus operators, First Bus – services 30 and 99, as well as South West Coaches – service 96. These services provide links to Taunton, Yeovil, Axminster, Ilminster, Crewkerne and other neighbouring villages.

In the event that a fire is detected or suspected the alarm must be raised by activating break glass call points located on all fire exits and routes, and/or raising attention with a member of staff.

Fire extinguishers are located on fire exits and exit routes, or in areas of higher risk e.g. kitchens.

In the event that the fire alarm sounds make your way to the nearest exit and assemble outside Howard’s Row arch.

First aid kits are located in the foyer, Caretakers Office and staff offices.
